Toy Watch is possibly one of the most brilliant ideas to come about in fashion. It reminds me of a friend of ours Ryan, who wears (Not sure if he still does) a Meow Mix plastic watch. Basically it’s that type of watch that is as plastic as plastic comes, and probably comes free with your bag of Meow Mix. But you stand there wearing a R10000 watch and kind of feel foolish because he pulls a free plastic watch off with such an air of cool.

The Toy Watch let’s you pull off that cheap, funky, retro lumo look while still having a quality watch. As you know from my last article (HERE), lumo is obviously quite hot at the moment. I just couldn’t get hold of those filthy lumo caps that Sports Unlimited were selling a while back. Bleak.

The Toy Watch is something that I fully endorse! It’s just so cool because it comes in the same design that your Rolex or Tag Heuer would, but its got such a playful side to it. It lets people know that you’re fashionable, playful and have an eye for the finer things in life. It’s Cape Town cool!

Minki Van Der Westhuizen is involved with Toy Watch, according to an interview in FHM, if my memory serves me correct. She is featured on the Toy Watch website (HERE), but I’m not sure if she’s involved as just a model, or as an investor as well in South Africa.
