On the 25th of July 2009, the iron Ryan Sandes beat out the entire field to take honours at the Hansa Hout Bay Challenge. The 35km off road race saw Ryan Sandes setting a new record for the race in 4:17:17.

Ryan Sandes — HATES to have a little yog
A while back (HERE) we wrote on Dean Karnazes, and funny enough, Ryan Sandes has beat this man in a race called the Gobi Desert Race and actually won the race. Hectic! Ryan Sandes is a SACS old boy and hails from one of our favourite parts of Cape Town, that being Hout Bay!
How he managed to bypass the weed in the settlement and become an ultra endurance runner is beyond me! I know which way I’d fall.
Hey? Nothing.
Ryan has been getting crazy press mentions, including being named one of the five “Heroes of running” in 2008 by Runners World magazine as well as being a runner up in the CapeStorm/ OutThere magazine Adventurers Of The Year 2008.
Check out his website over HERE.
